Born in Madison, Wisconsin, Elizabeth Lefebvre was raised in a family of publishers and artists. Despite an early dislike of school, because she was downgraded in art due to natural ability, she went on to receive a B.S. in art and a second in Theatre from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2004. Since graduating, she is the creative director of Stanton & Lee Publishers, but she primarily spends her time as a freelance graphic artist in Madison while continuing her education at MATC to acquire the computer skills necessary to augment her more classical art training.
She has explored many avenues in the art world, from book publishing to restoration of her grandfather's photographic legacy to giclee prints based on her original art. She has the tendencies of a magpie, collecting and hoarding ideas from the past and present to incorporate in her work. Her current work, inspired by luminaries from Austen to Bronte, shows the Anglophile and Bibliophile inherent in her. Her love of Jane Austen has inspired her to create a print series showcasing the characters of Austen's world based on turn-of-the-century illustrations. When she is not hard at work she spends her time reading and watching mini-series with her cat Spot. He really likes anything from the BBC, especially with horses, and if you can get a chaise and four in there, all the better.
For more about Elizabeth visit her blog, Strange & Random Happenstance, which she updates regularly. Or find her on facebook or on MySpace, where you can learn valuable information, like her love of David Tennant as the 10th Doctor on Doctor Who.
She is also featured on Portalwisconsin.org and the UW-Madison Alumni Showcase.
